Your Houston Dynamo are now just two wins away from their second consecutive MLS Cup, but they first have to get through the Kansas City Wizards before facing the New England Revolution for the Cup. The teams have played each other twice this year already, with the Orange defeating the Wizards in KC and one tie in Houston as the results. The showdown will take place on Saturday at 7:30pm at Robertson Stadium.
The Wizards are rolling after upsetting Chivas USA in the first round of the MLS playoffs, and they bring a stifiling defense that held the usually aggressive Chivas scoreless. However, they will be playing in front of a hostile Texian crowd, and unlike last round, there won't be another game in Kansas City for them to try to outscore the Dynamo: it's do or die time.
Dynamo players Dwayne De Rosario, Richard Mulrooney, Pat Onstad, and Eddie Robinson are all playing under the shadow of a penalty warning: if any of them picks up a yellow in this game, he'll be suspended for the MLS Cup game on the 18th in Washington, DC. With De Rosario and Robinson as two of the most important players on the team, it'll be critical for them to keep level heads during the game so as not to jeopardize the teams chances if they advance to the next round.
The Orange are definitely the favorites heading into the game, but the Wiz would love to take the piss out of them. Show up in your Dynamo regalia and cheer them on to victory!
