More on the 3.14

11122007_pi.jpgYo, Houston - the only thing better than pie? Why 24 hour a day pie - for that 2:30 a.m., we can't sleep unless I get we get us some French Silk, pronto - thing! Well, perhaps that's just us. You can even get a sugar-free pie made with Nutra-Sweet (insert Boudreaux joke here), a Bayou Goo, Lemon Ice Box, Sweet Potato and a fine assortment of cakes and cheesecakes. Where? Why where else? The House of Pies! You can get some good diner grub while you "wait" for your pie (hey, any excuse for a patty melt or chicken-fried whatnot with gravy). We like us some Lemon Ice Box pie too, but, the creamy smoothness of the French Silk is sleep-inducing. In case you wanna donate some pie to our cause. The prices are reasonable, and there are two convenient locations to serve you (well, not if you are all way out in the 'burbs).

The 4-1-1 on "HOP" or House of Pies. Sings the same tune as The Flying Saucer Pie Company. First, they won't be taking orders between November 19th and 23rd. Second, it is first come, first served. Lastly, and differently - they are 24 hour, that being said, if the pies are all gone, they are all gone, just like we told you yesterday. HOP also uses the freshest ingredients and bakes daily, so you cannot go wrong here (and you may get what you really, really want - if you have some breakfast at 5:30 a.m. while you order a pie - just speculating).
