::Nights on Blue Bayou: City Soundscapes::

Tonight brings us the second installment of the Buffalo Bayou Partnership's Nights on Blue Bayou series. An awesomely unique event, that brings Houstonians to the banks of Buffalo Bayou for a neighborhood block party-esque event under the stars.
Nights on Blue Bayou: CITY SOUNDSCAPES is a multi-dimensional series of events on the banks of the bayou, beneath the historic Sabine Street Bridge, presented by the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts and Buffalo Bayou Partnership. This fall's outdoor music series features a wide range of artists from throughout the nation performing under the stars and the downtown skyline at this newly restored section of the Buffalo Bayou.

SONA: Wind, Rain, and Trains
Music by Kurt Stallmann
Video by Alfred Guzzetti
Featuring Enso String Quartet
The celebrated Enso String Quartet performs the score, punctuating films of cityscape images and ambient city sounds recorded in Houston. SONA fuses environmental sounds and images based on Houston's surroundings: freight trains traveling through the city produce bellowing horns and deep rumblings juxtaposed with the rhythms of falling rain and the wind gusts of passing storms. In SONA, acoustic and digitally processed performances by Enso String Quartet are punctuated by railroad images that move across the horizon, while sounds of wind and rain surround the audience in a total sensory experience. SONA is presented in collaboration with Aurora Picture Show.
