Thriftster: November 19 - 22

Spent all your cash on girlie drinks and shattered dreams again this weekend, didn't you? No worries - Thriftster gives you the lowdown on cheap stuff to do until Paycheck Friday. Thanksgiving Thriftsters are sexy. Happy Turkey Week!

thriftster_graphic.jpgMonday: You're going to have a long week of family time, ambrosia salad and tryptophan sluggishness, so pace yourself with a free Monday night movie at Domy Bookstore (1709 Westheimer). While not completely seasonally appropriate (or is it!!??), Domy doesn't disappoint with their Blue Sunshine selection - a 1970's cult classic about college students taking bad LSD, going bald and killing people.

Tuesday: No turkey basting practice tonight? We suggest hitting Dolce Vita (500 Westheimer) for appetizers ($4 brussel sprouts and arrabbiata fingerling potatoes *droool*) and sauntering over to Avant Garden (411 Westheimer) for the lovely Belly Boudouir belly dancing troupe at 9pm.

Wednesday: Join the Young Republic in celebrating Friendz-giving at the Joanna Gallery (4014 Graustark). Yes, a made-up holiday involving glitter, food and starving artists. Friendz-giving participants split up in teams last weekend to create a holiday meal and filmed the process, as well as the eating of and arts and crafts time that followed. Random? Yes. We like it that way.

Thursday: Hopefully you are eating free food in someone else's dining room today, but Sandy's Market has a ridiculous buffet for $22 for those allergic to kitchens and/or relatives.
