Are you a big fan of dream sequences? Perhaps you'd like to give yourself a headache? Maybe you're a fan of avant garde films? If you answered yes to any of the preceding questions, you should check out David Lynch's Eraserhead at River Oaks Theatre. Like much of Lynch's material, Eraserhead promises to warp your brain with a hard to follow story, astounding visuals and lots of stuff to make you go hmmm.
In a nut shell, the film is the story of a wildly coiffed man who is battling workplace stress, father's an ugly baby and has weird dreams.
Houstonist wasn't a fan of the film, but then we've never really gotten into Lynch per se (except for this line). But, the flick got an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes and was added to the National Film Registry in 2004, which means that they deem it to have "cultural, historical, or aesthetic significance." Huh. Uhhh, O.K. We'll take their word for it.
Wanna make up your own mind? Good. Ticket info is below.

Have you seen Mulholland Drive?

I think it's his best, most eerie and most coherent. Lost Highway was fairly coherent too.
man i tried this one once and it was super crazy
even the sounds and music
I REMEMBER SEEING ERASERHEAD SHORTLY AFTER IT'S RELEASE. (SUMMER OF 1979)
IT WAS A MIDNIGHT MOVIE AT THE GREENWAY- A PARKING RAMP THEATER - HOW MORE PERFECT CAN YOU GET? - WITH ALL THE SCENES OF DARK INDUSTRIAL STREETS. I CAN HEAR LYNCH
YELLING - "MORE STEAM! WE NEED MORE STEAM!"
AND WHO COULDN'T FALL FOR WITH THE LADY IN THE RADIATOR?
i still lean towards blue velvet and wild at heart. must sees. and i hope santa brings me that twin peaks box set.
