I REMEMBER SEEING ERASERHEAD SHORTLY AFTER IT'S RELEASE. (SUMMER OF 1979) IT WAS A MIDNIGHT MOVIE AT THE GREENWAY- A PARKING RAMP THEATER - HOW MORE PERFECT CAN YOU GET? - WITH ALL THE SCENES OF DARK INDUSTRIAL STREETS. I CAN HEAR LYNCH YELLING - "MORE STEAM! WE NEED MORE STEAM!" AND WHO COULDN'T FALL FOR WITH THE LADY IN THE RADIATOR?

Have you seen Mulholland Drive? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulholland_Drive_(film) I think it's his best, most eerie and most coherent. Lost Highway was fairly coherent too.
