Houstonist is two years old. We have made great strides during our second year. We are proud to have showcased the city and the work of many talented photographers during 600 sq mi. And, we are also proud and very relieved to have safely hosted over 60 folks on the Light Rail Pub Crawl. Thanks to our 11 veteran readers and our one new recruit. We love you. You're the jam in our jelly roll. We would also like to thank the colorful locals, the interviewees, the athletes, the musicians, the artists, the restaurants, the politicians, the groups, the news makers, the Missed Connectors and Houston's hidden gems that keep providing us with posting fodder.
The big day was actually November 20th, but we like to celebrate it in December since there's typically not a whole lot going then. Remember the kickass cake from last year? It'll be back. Well, not that exact one, but we'll have cake, booze and food. So, get out your planner of choice and Sharpie this in it:

Ooh, great choice in b-day party locale. Sign me up for some cheeseburger eggrolls!
The food is stellar. They catered 600sqmi, too. But, the best part is that MW is stumbling distance from my office and the Light Rail. Who knows where the party will go.
Happy birfday to us! Let's celebrate in style, in the classy way that you've come to love and expect from Houstonist!
did someone say Won Tons? well, i just did. bring it. Happy bday to us! hope everyone can make it out! (or make out) either one would be good.
Sounds like a blast -- I'll be there!
We should note, by the way, that if you click on the link to the Monsoon Web site, it shows a location in Wisconsin and makes no mention of the Houston location. But there really is one here, honestly. Show up and you'll see.
Damn the Google! I thought everything on the web was 200% true. In any case, I've updated the link in the piece. (Tee hee) Or, you can just click here.
Great. Now I'm writing for Wisconsinist. How many weekly cheese-related features can we have?
