We realize that we're almost a week late on this, but as the only media outlet in the city unafraid to actually directly quote the incident in question, we felt it was our duty to follow up on the story of the Rice MOB's halftime show against Tulsa this past Saturday.

For both of you who follow Rice athletics (Houstonist fun fact! Rice has sports teams besides baseball!), you know that after making a bowl game for the first time in forever last year, the Rice football team was left hanging in the wind when coach Todd Graham left them to take the head coaching job at Tulsa. Rice's team this year has been inconsistent at best under new head honcho David Bailiff and stud quarterback Chase Clement, en route to a 4-8 record. So going into this weekend's home loss to Tulsa, the Owls definitely had a chip on their shoulders.
At halftime, the MOB (Rice's student band) performed a routine entitled "Todd Graham's Inferno", which with the sort of "look at us, we're smart" gusto that Rice kids are known for, demonstrated the eternal torment that Graham chose when he departed Houston. A full transcript of the performance can be found here, but the main bone of contention game at the very end of the performance, which ended with a riddle:
You know, that reminds me of a joke: A priest, a nun, and a rabbi walk into a bar. Now, I forgot how the rest of it went, but I think in the end Todd Graham is a douchebag.
Naturally, Tulsa did the right thing: they had a hearty laugh and drove back to Oklahoma as gracious winners. Oops, sorry: they filed a complaint with Conference USA, and forced Rice's band director to apologize. So no decent joke goes unpunished again. The Owls football season is now over (though Tulsa, at 9-3, is going bowling this year), but it's safe to say they got the last laugh.

Pussies.
But Todd Graham IS a douchebag!
No harm in stating fact.
Well, you're not the only media outlet...
