Teardowns of the week

It's party time!
Folks in Tanglewood had a picnic-style party to celebrate the demolition of 5506 Russett St. (5537 got it too), where the owners are going to build a new home. It was an eerie farewell complete with champagne, snacks, and the oohs and aahs of the little kiddos when the bulldozer smashed into the roof of the 5,500 square foot teardown.

Is anyone really trying to sell this house?
The person who made that plea to the owner of 214 Walnut Bend couldn't tell, apparently, but it is too late now. The large seventies-era contemporary home (picture) sits on a 16,500 square foot wooded lot that backs up to a bayou inlet, and is mostly glass on the backside.
