As the 1980's began, Pearland was still a small town, where you could walk across the street to Dairy Queen for lunch in high school. It was also the time when the town produced their own little new wave band that would end up becoming a regional favorite: The Judy's.
We thought we'd celebrate the overdue release of The Judy's music on CD (available on the Wasted Talent Records website) by bringing you the band's live performance of their biggest 'hit' "Guyana Punch" from 1981. The video was shot in 1981 at the Agora Ballroom.
The audio and video are definitely low budget, and the bands attire makes us think they they were planning on hitting the beaches after the show, but it's a nice little reminder of the joy The Judy's would bring their audience (not to mention, the chance to get wet). Who knew that a song about a mass murderer could be so much fun?
