Being green? Easy!

Kermit, you’re wrong. Jeff Kaplan, owner and founder of New Living -- an eco-friendly home supply store, is out to show us that in fact it’s quite easy being green. But, honestly Kermit can’t be blamed. Times have changed and surely back in the ‘80’s being eco-friendly wasn’t such a piece of cake.

New Living, the “Healthy Home Essentials” store will open in the Rice Village sometime early this week, and offer customers the opportunity to replace many of their not-so-sustainable cleaning supplies, paints, and paper with earth-friendly products. The message is clear; it’s about showing people that you don’t have to go to great lengths to make significant positive ecological change.

Even the location of New Living is eco-friendly. You won’t see any new construction, or demolition since New Living is located inside Wagner Hardware. Yes, a house-wares store inside a hardware store. It’s one stop eco-friendly home supply shopping and a sign of the times. Honestly, even Kermit would change his mind.

New Living, Healthy Home Essentials
Inside Wagner Hardware @ 6111 Kirby Drive
Opening: Early this week

what an awesome idea for a store. much luck to Jeff! great post, ned.

As I was driving around today looking for wrapping paper made with post consumer content I was thinking loudly in my frustrated head that Houston needs a shop just like this! Some of us people who put everything off till the last minute need a shop to run by and pick up our earth friendly goods! I don't always remember to order online before I run out of something! Awesome! Good luck New Living and I'll be in soon to check you out!
