Berkman on Clemens: Andy Talked, Now Your Turn!

275px-Roger_clemens_2004.jpgRice alum and hometown hero Lance Berkman read the Mitchell Report. (Just like everyone else, it seems, on the planet.) He applauds Andy Pettite for coming forward and spoke Sunday about his support for the former Houston Astro, reports the Chronicle, but he's ready for some answers from the Mitchell report's biggest name: Roger Clemens.

I don't think it's good enough to make a blanket statement and say the guy's lying. Now that Andy's come out, that certainly puts a little more pressure to come out and make a more detailed statement
said Berkman in a Sunday press conference in which he also expressed concerns about the clubhouse chemistry of the new Astros team.
Meanwhile, Curt Schilling thinks Clemens should give back his Cy Young(s), Congress probably wants to talk to him, and reporters are blasting him for not defending his reputation convincingly enough, though he did make a blanket denial statement in the past 48 hours. The Astros, though, say they'll honor Clemens' personal services contract.

Keep an eye here for more developments as they come: Houstonist guesses every hometown star has gotta fall sometime.
