Houstonist Bartender: Ruffled Rooster

foghorn leghornChristmas shopping at The Galleria, incessant caroling and a just a touch of holiday-induced agoraphobia have Houstonist feeling a bit out of sorts today. Our feathers and lackadoogles are more than slightly ruffled. Unfortunately, we can do nothing buscept press on with our holiday chores and hole up inside the HQ once said tasks are complete. That's when we're planning to throw back a cocktail or six like a Ruffled Rooster.

Ruffled Rooster

+ 4 oz. orange juice
+ 4 oz. cranberry juice
+ 1 oz. vodka

Mix all the ingredients well and pour into a tall, plastic container. Place it in the freezer until just frozen. Remove from the freezer and slide into a tall highball glass.
We like this cocktail because it's light and refreshing. But, we like pouring an extra shot or two on top of the frozen cocktail to give it a bit more of a kick.

Thanks to nc_mama for writing in with this week's cocktail recipe.

Have a drink we should spread to the masses? Send it along [jason at houstonist dot com], and we just may post it after some extensive testing.

Don't be a dumbass. Drink responsibly or take a cab.
