Houston Sports Blog Roundup 1/8 Edition

We usually run this column on Mondays, but the Clemens press conference inspired us to be petulant and storm out of things, so we walked away from our keyboard in a huff, drove back to our mansion in Memorial, and injected our kids whose names all begin with K's with horse steroids. After we calmed down and called our lawyer, we compiled this list of links. Here's what the sports blogosphere is talking about this week.

- With the Texans' season over, one of the biggest offseason questions is what to do with the running game. Change is definitely in the air, and Battle Red Blog covers the available options.

- The New York Times does a profile of Rusty Hardin, Roger Clemens' lawyer. Careful, the noxious combination of the Old Gray Lady and one of Houston's most notorious lawyers may be hazardous to your health.

- When even the fawning lackeys at ESPN turn on Roger Clemens, you know it's getting bad. Seriously, no one benefits more from The Racket's continuing drama than the media outlets (like us!) who get to keep talking about it.

- Tracy McGrady continues to pour a lot of effort into raising money and awareness about Darfur. He's helping to found a school in the embattled region of Sudan, and is recruiting more NBA players to help with the cause.

- But then again, maybe T-Mac should think about how he's playing, too. He seems to be mailing it in this season, and the Dream Shake isn't happy about it.

That'll wrap things up for this week. Spring Training for the 'stros starts in just a month or so, and hopefully we'll be done talking about a certain over-the-hill pitcher by then. Until then, enjoy the Rockets, and dream of who the Texans can grab in the draft!
