An HPD rookie officer was busted for selling 50 pounds of pot in an undercover sting. If convicted the officer could face two to twenty years in prison.

A frustrated Mom left her 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son at a Cy-Fair fire station Friday afternoon. According to fire station officials, the kids were told by the mother that she "couldn't deal with them and to not come home until they grew up". The kids are currently being cared for by a relative after the mother returned to the fire station and was questioned by Harris County officials. It is unknown if the mother will face charges.

In other fine parenting news, the mother who left her six children in a northwest Harris County home while she flew to Africa to meet a man she met on the internet, has been contacted by local authorities. The mother thought an aunt was taking care of the kids but the aunt never made it to Houston from New Orleans.

A local high school student was randomly gunned down in a crowd during a fight at a northwest Harris County park. Friends of the victim attempted to transport him to a local hospital but in the process the vehicle was stopped by police and an ambulance was called to take the victim to the hospital where he later died.

The Houston Rockets won their fifth straight game defeating Minnesota in the Toyota Center, 113-82. Stand out players included rookie Carl Landry, who had a double double. Luis Scola who tied his season high twenty two points and Steve Novak who scored nine points in the last eight minutes. The Rockets play again on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Toyota Center against New Orleans.
