The Rockets kicked a truckload of ass last week before getting a wake-up call against the
Hornets. Amazing that they did all of this without Tracy McGrady. Kinda makes you wonder if GM Daryl Morey should listen to all those trade rumors. The T-Mac rumors and more in this week's run-through of what the sports blogs are saying:
- Every time we think we're done talking about Roger Clemens, he pulls us back in. It's like the Godfather, with steroids instead of cannolis. Here's the Dugout's take on his ill-fated press conference last week.
- The addition of Alex Gibbs to the Texans coaching staff signals a commitment to a zone-blocking scheme for the offensive line. What is Zone Blocking, anyway? Matt at DGDB&D has an exhaustive (and possibly exhausting) look at how this bodes well for the Texans' ability to keep defenses guessing next year.
- Crawfish Boxes looks at Roger's stats before and after the specific dates mentioned in Brian McNamee's testimony. There was certainly an uptick in performance, especially for a pitcher known to lose steam at the end of the season.
- Jerome Solomon, one of the better the only good columnist the Chron has comments on the T-Mac trade rumors. Verdit: hogwash and wishful thinking by other teams.
- Keeper Notes has a rundown of what's going on during the Dynamo's offseason, as well as the latest on the stadium deal with the city.
- Finally, this video raises more questions than it answers: where did Mike James learn to dance? Did he take dance lessons instead of learning shot selection? Where did Clutch get argyle shorts in his size? Who the hell is Mini Clutch? We want the truth!

There was certainly an uptick in performance, especially for a pitcher known to lose steam at the end of the season.
Career ERA 1stst half - 3.15
Career ERA 2nd half - 3.10
Career ERA August - 3.16
Career ERA September - 3.27
Yep, he's know for losing steam all right.
I'm referring to his playoff performances, wherein his otherwise healthy groin gives out, or he has a blister, or he gives up a ERA over 10 (like this year with the Yanks).
Look up the story of how he's possibly at least as responsible as Bill Buckner for the Sox losing in '86 and get back to me.
