From local Houston headlines, we bring you these weekend news bits...
• A small plane made an emergency landing on a street near Lake Conroe. The plane landed safely, no one was injured and now it's up to the FAA to decide how to move the plane.
• Several people were robbed while standing in line to by sneakers (did we just type that?) at Greenspoint Mall. The thief fled in a black Chevy Tahoe and is still at large.
• An SUV driver was killed in southeast Houston on Saturday when his vehicle flipped during an accident.
• On Januray 20th, 1968, UH ended UCLA's 47 game winning streak. The final score was 71-69 UH. Notable players who played in this game, Elvin Hayes and Lew Alcindor, who later became Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
• The Rockets beat The Spurs, 83-81, last night in front of 18,353 fans in the Toyota Center. High scorers for the Rockets were Yao with 21 and Rafer Alston with 16. The Rockets play again on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
