::Martin Luther King Jr. Grande Parade::

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

The MLK Parade Foundation will wrap up a weekend of events in the honor and memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today at 2pm with the Annual MLK Jr. Grande Parade down Allen Parkway.

The MLK Jr. Grande Parade is the third largest Parade in the U.S. behind The Rose Parade and The Macy’s Day Parade, and will be televised by KHOU-TV/Channel 11.

Over 500,000 spectators are expected to attend the 14th Annual MLK Grande Parade. This year's parade will feature over 40 Award Winning Marching Bands from around the nation and over 20 Professionally designed floats, and more than 36,000 participants.

Nationwide / Multicultural Broadcast:
The 2008 MLK Grande Parade will also air and be shown to a National and International TV Viewing Audience in Spanish and Chinese through our Broadcast Partnerships with NTD TV-New York and UNIVISION TV.

The Parade Route starts on Allen Parkway, just east of Taft St. The parade will proceed east on Allen Parkway to Bagby, north on Bagby to Lamar, and west on Allen Parkway to finish at Taft
