Friday Afternoon Videos: Poison

Tomorrow night, several 90's R&B hit-makers emerge on Reliant Arena for the Ladies Night Out Tour (this has been a popular theme this week). One of those is Bell Biv DeVoe. Bell Biv Devoe (also known as BBD, not to et confused with other 90's bands like NKOTB) arose from the ashes of New Edition. While Bobby Brown and Ralph Tresvant went solo, the other three members decided to form this group, which had a very successful run ... at least for a year.

The time period was 1990: Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer were huge and Nirvana was basically unknown. Pop radio ruled the world, and you couldn't get away from the New Jack swing styled "Poison." The song is still catchy today, but wow, the video has really aged. From the production quality (the overlay of the band on the screen) to the apparel (big frames, loud dancing garments), the video screams 1990.

You can check out BBD, along with Keith Sweat, Tony, Toni, Tone, and Guy at Reliant Arena Saturday night.
