• Two local developers are accused of bribing a former director of the city's Building Services Department.
• A woman was shot in the face during a carjacking that occurred in Southwest Houston on Bellaire Blvd. near Larkwood around 8pm Friday.
• An erratically driving man crashed his car into a home in south Houston and died after the car burst into flames and caught part of the house on fire.
• The UTMB infectious disease laboratory has been shut down after an internal door failed to close correctly twice. The lab will re-open after repairs have been made.
• The Houston Auto Show is underway at the Reliant Center until February 3rd. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 12 when accompanied by an adult.
• The Rockets beat the Portland Trailblazers 89-79 to secure their fourth straight road win. High scorers for the Rockets included TMac with 15 points and Carl Landry with 12.
