::The Best Flowers and Chocolates We Know Of::

Yeah, so Valentine's Day is tomorrow, and Houstonist sees nothing wrong with giving some love to those you love, be it admitted or anonymous. You can move beyond Hallmark, we say, and love it up.

And while we are not traditionalists in most senses, we do happen to love flowers and chocolate. If you're planning to go this way for tomorrow, or any day, we humbly recommend the following:

Raindrop Chocolate
810 Waugh Dr., Suite 100, Houston, TX 77019 ph: 713-524-2864
--At a recent truffle tasting, the chili truffle got big raves, as did the champagne rose. They've got both traditional and wacky flavors (sweet curry, anyone?), as well as gelato, cake, hot chocolate and other delights.

Sketch by Albert
807 W Gray, Houston, TX 77019, ph: 713 942 9601
--Albert makes elegant, contemporary designs not seen around these parts -- they're striking in their crisp originality. He just spent three years in London creating floral design for the likes of Madonna, and yet he decided to come back home. Even if you're not a pop star, he'll still be able to make something beautiful for you, just ask.

We at Houstonist are open to suggestion -- is there anywhere you'd recommend? Tell us.

Date: Thursday, February 14th
Time: All day and all night
Location: Raindrop Chocolate and Sketch by Albert
