• A fatal accident occurred this morning on Chimney Rock near Highway 90A. As of 7:30 A.M. the area around the accident has been cordoned off and traffic was being diverted. No further details are available as an investigation is under way.

• Health officials are calling this latest round of the flu a "moderately severe epidemic." Flu cases are up 31% over last year and three children have already died as a result.

• The small island in Galveston Bay where Baby Grace, Riley Ann Sawyers' body was found has been renamed Riley's Island. The island formerly named Staggers Island was renamed by the owners of the piece of land which houses a fish camp.

• A police chase last night ended up with a women being tased twice and shot. The incident occurred on Renshaw near Brock in southeast Houston.

• The driver of a pickup truck was killed when his vehicle rolled over on Windfern Road near Fox Road Wednesday night. Authorities believe alcohol played a roll in the accident.

• The Rockets extended their win streak last night to eight straight games after defeating the Sacramento Kings in the final minutes at the Toyota Center, 89-87. The Rockets now have a few days off as they head into the All-Star break.

Is anyone else creeped out by the Riley Island bit? That just seems creepy and inappropriate to me. Are boat tours next? ICK!

Yup.. creepy, but the forensic artist's sketch of baby Grace that was plastered all over the local news reports STILL gives me nightmares... and the ocasional bad DAYDREAM.
