From local Houston headlines, we bring you these weekend news bits...
• An elderly woman was rescued by firefighters during a two-alarm fire at her southwest Houston condo Saturday morning in the 12000 block of South Dairy Ashford.
• A 17 year old girl became trapped under a minivan after the vehicle crashed through the walls of her room in a southeast Houston apartment complex. The girl survived the incident virtually unscathed.
• "The Great Texas Warrant Roundup" began today. You know what that means don't ya? It's time to pay up on those municipal tickets and outstanding warrants before you get carted off to jail.
• 28 hand painted mustangs will placed around town to promote the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. After they have served their promotional purposes many will be auctioned off for charity.
• The Broken Record Blog has a story on Borders opening new stores with the ability to purchase digital media. The media can be burned to a CD or transferred directly to your MP3 device. Sorry Apple users, but Borders has decided that there will be no compatibility for your devices at this time.
