According to Astros officials, Pence spent last night in an emergency room and he will be checked out today by the team physician. More information on Pence's accident will be released later today.

Pence was called up in late April of 2007 and instantly became a fan favorite. He finished his rookie campaign batting .322 with 17 home runs and 69 RBI and earning the 2007 Astros Rookie of the Year Award.
