It's the most wonderful time of the year
Sure, when Andy Williams first uttered those words he may have been praising the birth of Jesus Christ. But for us, that same expression can be applied to Girl Scout cookie season! And wouldn't you know it, just this week five boxes of Thin Mints (amongst other variations) were delivered to our front door. After feverishly consuming the first box in a single sitting, we implemented our annual tradition of placing our remaining cookies in the freezer. For the uneducated masses, there may be no better treat than a frozen Thin Mint. It truly is one of the greatest delicacies known to mankind. But don’t take our word for it, try it yourself.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to lug a package of icy cookies out with you tonight. Well, maybe you could but who wants to suffer the effects of freezer burn in public? Well, that and the fact that taking a stash of sweets out to a bar is just plain weird. Nevertheless, you can circumvent the potential awkwardness of having crumbs around your mouth as you try your newest pick-up lines at your company's Happy Hour tonight by getting your Thin Mint fix in alcoholic beverage format. We’re proud to introduce the Thin Mint shot!
Even better than the real thing…
Let’s not go overboard here, Bono. But this shot will surely cure your sweet tooth and give you enough liquid courage to seal the deal with that hot blonde in Human Resources you've been eying for the last seven weeks now.
Thin Mint Shot
+ 1/2 oz. Creme de Cacao (white)
+ 1/2 oz. Creme de Menthe (green)
+ 1/4 oz. Baileys Irish Creme
+1/4 oz. Stoli Vanilla vodka
Pour all ingredients on ice. Shake vigorously. Strain and serve in a glass with ice.
Have a drink we should spread to the masses? Send it along [bartender at houstonist dot com], and we just may post it after some extensive testing.
Don't be a dumbass. Drink responsibly or take a cab.

Morning Roundup

I'll admit it--I'm not generally a fan of "girly" drinks, but this thing is dangerously delicious. In fact, I think I know exactly what I'll be drinking once 5 o'clock hits.
