>> Two Houston Area Offshore Drilling Companies Win Big: The oil and money are flowing freely for two drilling companies based in Houston. A report in the Houston Business Journal, lists 2007 revenue for mammoth behemoth, Transocean closed out at $3.1 billion. The company also announced a $586 million contract extension with client Anadarko, another Houston company. The HBJ also reports that The Rowan Companies also inked a three year deal. The Rowan deal is valued at $201 million for services provided to Saudi Aramco. The Houston-based company manufactures and operates deep water drilling platforms that operate around the globe.

>> Early voting Day Two: The Democratic campaigning in the Houston area seems to be paying off as Democrat voters are currently outnumbering their Republican counterparts at the polls. Using figures from the county, Charles Kuffner of Off the Kuff reports that 19,578 "liberals" have voiced their opinion compared to 8,654 "conservatives." Perhaps the spike can be attributed to Chelsea Clinton's brief stump at Cyclone Anaya's touting her mom to patrons. Another Arkansan was also in town. Former Governor, and current Republican presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee rallyed supporters at the Renaissance Hotel. "I think Texas has the chance to say something pretty loud," Huckabee said. He's right, but he may not like what's being said...at least not so far.

>> Today's weather: Don't let last night's relatively balmy temperatures lull you into leaving the jacket at home tonight. The mercury will dip below 50 (47 to be precise), after climbing to 68 degrees on the F scale during the day. And, the moistness lingers in the background with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.
