Devoted Shelterporn readers will remember that one of our pipe dreams is to live on North or South boulevards. The beautiful old homes on those streets have a special place in our heart, but we also drool over some of the more modern construction — this 1998 South Boulevard house included. The house, designed by Jay Baker, isn't totally traditional or modern; whatever it is, though, we like it.

Downstairs, the living areas are perfect for entertaining, with large, open rooms, walls of windows and a comfortable — and very clean-looking — stainless steel-and-white kitchen. We especially like the porch/patio, which opens onto the pool (built in 2002 beside the house), and what seems to be a screened-in outdoor room complete with a vaulted ceiling and fireplace. Upstairs are the bedrooms, which include a master suite with office, and bathrooms mostly decorated in clean white. Glass doors, transoms and lots of windows throughout the house make every room look light and open.

The house is relatively small (by today's luxury house standards, that is), but the attention to detail and an unusual site plan make it a standout. Of course, it wouldn't hurt if the current owners would throw in their fantastic collection of art and furniture, but that's something you can negotiate for yourself. Bedrooms: two or three. Bathrooms: two full and two half. Square feet: 3,600. Price: $2.2 million.

See more pictures of the house on Jay Baker's website.
