Rice to Take On 'Horns Tuesday

Rice_25862.jpgRice baseball is coming off a sloppy-but-entertaining win (7 runs, 5 errors) yesterday vs. Creighton (and their magical AMBIDEXTROUS PITCHER...we ain't kidding, folks.) After yesterday's experience of excited crowd, tasty hot dog, gorgeous weather, and slight sunburn, we're not sure anything until conference play could make for as exciting a day at Reckling...
...except for tomorrow, of course, when UT comes to town to attempt to avenge their defeat in the College Classic at Minute Maid last week. Last year's closer, Cole St. Clair, is rumored as the starter, and tickets are going fast: we even found people trying to sell them on Craigslist!

Look for freshman phenom Chad Mozingo, who started the year hot, to continue to refine his swing, while catcher Adam Zornes, a late-round draft pick last year who decided to return to the Owls instead, continues to blossom in terms of hitting and fielding as well as the all-important skill of calling pitches. (The Owls are one of only two or three collegiate baseball teams in which catchers rather than coaches call the pitches in game situations.)

We'll see you there!
