Where is this?
I assume this is the Washburn Tunnel — I don't think we have any other tunnels this long in town anymore.
VERY EROTIC !!! I haven't been through there in years..... the trick was to go through there while on certain mind expanding substances & try to stay off the walls and/or ceiling as you drove..... ahhhhh the 70's..................
so did they fill in the old Baytown tunnel?
They didn't fill the Baytown Tunnel in, exactly. The original plan was to slice it up and tow it out to sea, where it would be an artificial reef, but in the end, the tunnel was demolished in place.
Sounds like they took the easy way (& least expensive) out. (Baytown Tunnel)
