Well, Houstonist, you asked for her and now she's back. UH's Taucha Hogue is once again in a competition and she needs your vote.

Welcome back Taucha, tell us a little about this new contest you're in?

I am currently in a contest with Fox 26 for their live web show, MyFoxHoustonLive.com. They are searching for a new female co-host and are holding a competition to find the perfect match. The contest began with 10 contestants. Each got to host one show and viewers got to vote on their favorite contestant. Now, it is down to the final five and I have luckily been selected as one of the them. Each of us now get the opportunity to host a full week of shows and this week happens to be my week. After the last contestant finishes her week, MyFoxHoustonLive.com will decide a winner with the help of votes from viewers like you and the winner will get to host four weeks of shows with MyFoxHoustonLive.com.

How did you get chosen for this contest? Was it something you applied for?

I had originally appeared on the show to promote my running for College Cheerleader of the Year; and from there, Fox 26 mentioned their upcoming competition for a new female co-host and suggested I speak with Page Parkes Talent Agency, who is their partner in the competition, about auditioning. I thought it was a really exciting opportunity and did as they suggested and was able to audition. I fortunately made it as one of the 10 contestants.

Dominique Sachse, a UH alum, is a successful and popular news anchor here. If you win this contest, could see yourself wanting to follow in her footsteps?

Not being a broadcast or journalism major, this is a new avenue for me, but I absolutely enjoy it and could definitely see myself pursuing a career in television. I have been so fortunate to have this opportunity

Tell us about the first time you were live on the air. Did you get nervous at all? Or did it just come natural to you?

I do have to admit I was a little nervous at first, but the cast of the show, the producer and all of the camera guys are all so sweet and make you feel like you are part of the team as soon as you walk on the set. The show is a free-for-all, fun and crazy show, so the producer helps ease your mind in repeating, “There are no mistakes on this show,” which is quite comforting.

What time can your Houstonist fans expect too see you on the air?

The show airs daily at 4 p.m. on www.MyFoxHoustonLive.com and I will be the co-host through Friday, March 21st.

You've become quite the popular girl over the past six months, what does the future hold for Taucha Hogue?

My main focus for the future is to graduate from the University of Houston this December with a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Technology. The College of Technology is great about keeping students updated with possible internships and job opportunities, so I might explore some of those after graduation, but for now, I am really enjoying working with MyFoxHoustonLive.com and hope to be able to work with them more in the future. My main goal is to have a career I love, enjoy life and be a good person.

You can catch Taucha Hogue co-hosting live today and Friday at 4 p.m. at MyFoxHoustonLive.com
