Houston's Startup Corridor
Startup Houston has recently posted an informative blog post on Proposing Houston's Startup Corridor. The post suggests that Houston's Starup Corridor could start with The Houston Technology Center on one end and Rice University on the other and somewhere near the middle is the latest startup The Caroline Collective. Startup Houston is seeking your comments on their idea, head over to their site to give them your input.
Houston #6 In WiFi Usage
As reported in the Houston Business Journal, according to an international survey by California-based iPass Inc., Houston has ranked number 6 in terms of wifi usage. Houston has a reported 5,372 Wi-Fi hotspot sessions during the second half of 2007, a 21 percent increase from the previous year.
HTC Technology Champions Meeting
The Houston Technology Center is hosting a Technology Champions Meeting on April 3rd. This is an excellent networking opportunity. According to the HTC website, this meeting is a "gathering a community of business leaders who work together to help the growth of technology in our city, these meetings are the best forum to meet those who make a difference and get involved with the various technology sectors in Houston." Geek Radio
Did you know that there's a weekly computer call in radio show in Houston that allows you to call in with your computer problems? The show is called Technology Bytes and airs Wednesdays from 8pm to 10pm on 90.1KPFT FM in Houston. Tech Bytes will take your PC, Mac, Unix, Linux and other technology related questions, live on the air. The show has been on for 12 years and shows no sign of slowing down. Tune in for your weekly dose of computer geekery.
