Concert Preview: Xiu Xiu, Thao Nguyen

Moody art-rock and acoustic pop are on the bill tonight at the Orange Show. Kill Rock Stars labelmates Xiu Xiu and Thao Nguyen [pictured] bring different temperaments to the stage on their joint tour, but it is a surprisingly perfect match.
Both are supporting sublime new albums - Xiu Xiu with their latest record, Women as Lovers, and Thao Nguyen is repping her KRS debut, We Brave Bee Stings and All.

As if the critically-acclaimed Bee Stings and All wasn't enough of an achievement, Thao and her band, The Get Down Stay Down, having been wowing audiences all over with their infectious folk bend, sharp striking lyrics, and, um, toothbrush-guitar playing skills.
