Architect to the Senses

How keen is your haptic organ? Philippe Rahm, architect to the senses, will speak at Rice University today Monday, April 7th at 5pm in the Farish Gallery. Trained at the Polytechnic school of Lausanne, where he obtained his architectural diploma in 1993, Philippe is less interested in the look of his spaces then how they feel, literally. No seriously, how space feels. By controlling and modulating heat, humidity, air-flow, sound and scent Philippe can artfully direct your sense of space. We can't figure out why every architect wouldn't be all over this stuff. That and we can't believe Philippe might share his secrets with us gratis.

What: Philippe Rahm Lecture
Where: Farish Gallery, Anderson Hall, Rice University (map)
