Join the Houston NetSquared Meetup tonight as they welcome Robin Reagler, Executive Director of Writers in the Schools (WITS). She will discuss the history of WITS and ways that her organization is reaching out to low income students and changing lives.

Who should attend?
Anyone who has a passion for social issues and a love/morbid curiosity for technology should attend our Net2 discussions! We welcome all techie levels, as long as you are ready for some healthy dialog and a great time :)

How to find the organizer(s)
"We're in the back Oak Room, which is waaay in the back. There should be a Netsquared Meetup sign on the door if it is closed, if open you'll be able to see us chatting!"

Details
Writers in the Schools (WITS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that engages children in the pleasure and power of reading and writing. WITS writers work in year-long programs in over 350 classrooms in order to help students develop their creative and analytical thinking skills. With a focus on at-risk inner city students, WITS also offers workshops in art museums, hospitals, community centers, private schools, and juvenile detention centers.

WITS is involved in national initiatives, such as mentoring similar writers-in-schools programs, serving as a model for multidisciplinary arts educators, and designing curricula for use in schools. WITS writers also lead in-services and writing workshops for teachers.
