Daily-ist: Monday

::Monday Night Movies at Domy Books::

It's baaaaack! No, not Heather O'Rourke; Domy Books' Monday Night Movies!! (Ok, waaaaay too excited for Monday. We'll take it down a notch.)

Domy Books, in association with Domy Films, is pleased to present, MONDAY MOVIE NIGHTS, Mondays at Domy Books, curated by the Movie Dudes.

April 14: Liquid Sky

Drugs, 80s art punks, and aliens translated through director Slava Tsukerman would be the easy way to describe Liquid Sky.

The hard way would include the endless amount of unlikable characters (including the two leads played by Anne Carlisle) who prey off of each other for the next high or orgasm, a German scientist following aliens who feed on the release of our pleasure, and a social scene based on decadence and little else.

While the effects and production reflect the budget, the atmospheres of self-loathing, emptiness, and the portrayal of an art scene that consumes those that live in it, highlight the film's charm.

Add to it a soundtrack based on classical and original pieces, and you have one of independent cinema's strangest and unique films.
