New CD Releases: April 22, 2008

080422_tokyopolice.jpgThe little indie pop band Tokyo Police Club, from Canada has made quite a buzz in the past year or so with its singles, EP’s, and tours. Today, they finally release their first full-length album, Elephant Shells.

New Zealnd's "fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo," Flight of the Conchords, also finally release their first full length, self-titled, album. Anyone who's watched their HBO show gets it; everybody else – you must watch.

The Weepies are a band that live up to their name. The Massachusetts couple's music is thought-provoking, sometimes sad, but not in a "where's the razorbalde" kind of way. After a well-received show at the Mucky Duck last year, they're back with their sophomore album Hideaway.
