The infamous Texas Crawfish and Music Festival is scheduled to take place in Spring this Saturday. What goes better with crawfish than an ice cold beer? Now the tricky question is exactly what beer goes best with crawfish on a hot and muggy Saturday afternoon? After much research at Sam's Boat every Monday night for several months, Houstonist has found the answer.
Blue Moon with a slice of orange to garnish.
Yup - this week's Bartender recipe is a bottle of beer (Come on, that's not taking the easy route! Did we mention the extensive research we conducted? Now that's dedication!)
Blue Moon
+ 12 oz. bottle of Blue Moon
+ 1 orange slice
Pour 12oz. bottle of Blue Moon into glass. Squeeze one orange slice into glass and stir with pinky finger. Drop orange into glass.
Have a drink we should spread to the masses? Send it along [bartender at houstonist dot com], and we just may post it after some extensive testing.
Don't be a dumbass. Drink responsibly or take a cab.

Missed Connections: Gefilte Fish...and "Chain Connections"

Beware of any crawfish that has crap sprinkled on the outside of it. It will only burn your lips. And, you should feel free to punch the boiler straight in the mouth if s/he says, "That's the way we do it in Louisiana" cause that's bullshit.
Damn skippy! Although, I prefer a crisper, less sweet beer (fruitless) with my bugs. However, Blue Moon, in general, is damned good stuff.
