Joanne King Herring presents Tea With Mussolini
An on going series we love to love returns to Museum of Fine Arts tonight. Movie Houstonians Love has two primary goals: to provide speakers with the opportunity to show another side of themselves, and to introduce new audiences to the year-round film programming offered in the museum's Brown Auditorium Theater.
Previous participants have included rapper Bun B, former First Lady Barbara Bush, baseball star Larry Dierker, and Mayor Bill White.

Joanne King Herring Introduces Her Favorite Film: Tea with Mussolini
In pre-WWII fascist Italy, a motherless boy (Charlie Lucas) is cared for by a group of middle-aged British women. Loosely based on the early life of director Franco Zeffirelli (Romeo and Juliet), the film stars Cher, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright, Maggie Smith, and Lily Tomlin.
Joanne King Herring was born in San Antonio but grew up in Houston with the likes of
James Baker III. She served on five Fortune 500 boards, was knighted by the King of Belgium, and received Pakistan“s highest award, the Sitara Medal. She is one of only two Americans ever to win the Ondas award in Spain for television recording; Walter Cronkite is the other. She had the sixth-highest-rated daytime show in audience approval ratings in the United States.
