Women claim UFO sighting over Baytown
Houstonist knows a thing or two about Baytown — enough to understand that, if a UFO was going to be spotted somewhere, we wouldn't be surprised if it happened in the skies over the Big B. And no, that's not as random a thought as it might seem: Baytonians Lisa Fojt and Kathy Boyd told KHOU that they saw a strange flying object over the city as they crossed the Fred Hartman Bridge on Saturday night.
“It was an extremely bright light, it was a blue-green light,” Boyd said. The object was seen at about the same level as the top of the bridge, hovering somewhere over Goose Creek.
It’s a story the pair admitted they were reluctant to tell. But they saw it, and they told.
“And I was looking, and I’m like ‘are you watching this?’ And she’s like ‘yes, I’ve been watching it.’ And it kind of verified to both of us that we both saw something,” Fojt said.
Fojt and Boyd posted an account of their experience to the Internet, where some people suggested it might have been a meteor that they saw. But the pair is pretty sure that's not the case, because the object they saw made a sharp turn. "It just kicked in, like warp speed, and it was gone," Boyd told Channel 11. "An extremely sharp turn." Huh. That led KHOU to ask the inevitable question:
11 News: “Had you ladies been drinking?”(laughter)
Fojt: “No, no, no. I kind of wish we had, you know? Maybe it would seem less real.”
We're not sure what might have been flying over Baytown this weekend, but we know one thing for sure: If the city doesn't capitalize on this, they're missing out on a great tourism opportunity — or at least some fodder for the next community theater production.

I am actually fairly certain I saw a meteor over downtown on Saturday night. Maybe that's what they saw...
