Concert Preview: Hearts of Animals, Young Mammals and Wicked Poseur
We really wish we could spend Friday night at a really cool, outdoor venue listening to crunchy guitar lined with fuzzy vocals, indie rock with one of the strongest rhythm sections in our 10 mile radius and two guys on guitar righteously rocking the stage.
Lucky for us Hearts of Animals, Young Mammals and Wicked Poseur play The Orange Show on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m.
As you should be well aware of by now, Hearts of Animals is one of our favorite local songstresses and has the undeniable ability of developing some of the most charming melodies that have caught our ears. She layers said melodies with muffled vocals that create an awkward distance not unlike the feeling you get when you're forced to sit next to that girl or guy you keep seeing at the bar but you never talk to.
Likewise, the Young Mammals are like the overeager 19-year-old kid who snuck into the bar who you can't shake off; you realize at some point that kid will probably be cooler than two years from now. Meanwhile, Wicked Poseur is telling you a joke that you can't stop laughing to, one that you will never be able to repeat because, well, you just can't do it like they do it.
