Mildred's Umbrella Happy Hour Fund Raiser

mildredsumbrella.png Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company would like you to join them for a happy hour fund raiser. The event takes place at The Last Concert Cafe, 1403 Nance St in the Warehouse District on Wednesday July 30th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

The cover is $6 and includes a chance to win door prizes from Churrascos, Candylicious, Mildred's Umbrella as well as a performance by local pop rock group, The Misfires who according to their myspace page, "sound exactly like the way it sounds when you dump a whole bag of Pop Rocks in your mouth." --Houstonist has seen The Misfires and doesn't recall a cacophony of noise as such, more just like straight forward power pop!

The Last Concert Cafe has a full menu and will be offering drink specials during that time, so come hang out with a great local theater troupe and hear some great music!

Proceeds from this fund raiser will help the group with their upcoming production, "Murder of Crows". Mildred's Umbrella was founded in 2001 and officially became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in February 2004. The company was founded by Jennifer Decker (a local actress and instructor at Houston Community College) and John Harvey (poet, playwright, professor at Houston Community College and lecturer at University of Houston). The company has performed over twelve productions including seven original productions.
