Houstonist Bar Review: Lucky's Pub

290708_luckys.jpg.jpgLucky's Pub has become the place for Houstonist’s pre and post Astros game hangout. Haven’t been there yet? Where ya’ been? Yeah, the ‘Stros may be hovering around last place in their division, but that’s no reason not to take in as many games as you can and have a good time, regardless of standings or the final score.

Don’t have tickets for the game? There’s no shortage of TV’s around, including the 21 foot Hi-def big screen. As a bonus (in our opinion) the game sound is pumped in during the game, definitely creating a better experience for cheering on the home team.

As for the food fare, the place is surprisingly good. We loved the cheese steak egg rolls and the two different pizzas we tried held their own. Our guest, however, said the buffalo chicken sandwich could have been better.

One perk to mention: Lucky’s provides a free shuttle service to Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center, The Meridian, and Bayou Place for most events. This comes in handy as parking in the area can be sparse, especially on game days.

Located in a 70-year-old warehouse at the corner of St. Emanuel and Rusk, Lucky’s is just a couple Berkman home runs away from the ballpark.

Got a bar we need to check out? Let us know. As always, don’t be a moron….never drink and drive.
