So, after that close call we had with Edouard, this week's bartender calls for a natural disaster of a drink (the disaster's begin with about your second or third one of these - so, shelter in place and do not evacuate when the hurricanes blow through your bar).
Hurricane
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce dark rum
1 ounce coconut rum
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce gin
1 ounce Chambord (raspberry liqueur)
1 ounce triple sec liqueur (or Grand Marnier)
3 ounces orange juice
orange slices for garnish (optional)
maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)
pineapple slice for garnish (optional)
paper umbrella (mandatory)
Fill a shaker with ice and add all of the non-garnish ingredients, shake gently to mix. Pour over fresh ice in a hurricane glass. Garnish as desired, don't forget the umbrella (with this much liquor, you may need a Krazy Straw, too, just saying). Sip until consumed, lather, rinse, repeat. To make a "Tropical Depression" go hunt up some powdered hurricane mix and add booze (powdered mix, pffffffft).
As always, enjoy the cocktail, drink responsibly and if you decide to go out on the road (say, it's suddenly a great idea to play "I spy" on your ex - which, it ain't, but sometimes it sounds good) do not be a dumbass, take a cab or call someone with an aversion to alcohol .
