• A Houston couple went on a two month robbery spree, "to pay the rent." The couple were caught when one of their victims reported their license plate to police.
• George Jeffrey Carlson, 52, of Spring, killed himself at the Canadian border near Maine after refusing to stop at a Canadian customs facility. Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that the victim shot himself in the head. Friends back home said the man had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
• A Sugar Land couple were tied up and beaten in their home after a home invasion last night around 11pm. The robbers left with jewelry, a purse and a small safe.
• A woman is suspected of drunk driving when her car struck a tree at Will Clayton at Colonial Fisher. Emergency crews spent 25 minutes extricating the mother and her five year old child from their vehicle. Police report that empty beer bottles were also found in the car.
• Is the Astrodome ready for a TV and film career? A local group thinks it is and wants to convert the Astrodome into a world class, large scale TV and movie studio.
