Plane tickets are expensive these days, especially plane tickets to Europe. Add in the cost of a hotel room, a Eurail pass, fancy walking shoes and money for last-minute souvenirs at Charles de Gaulle, and you're looking at a fat wad of cash.
On the other hand, you could head out to Liebman's tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. for their Tour of Europe wine and beer tasting, for a mere $20 (plus tax). Still want a souvenir? Your $20 also gets you a free Schott Zwiesel glass to tote home. Besides, how often do you find wines cheerfully mingling with beers at a tasting event? Not often.
You may recall that we mentioned Liebman's as one of our favorite speciality food and wine stores / delicatessens in our last Urbanist post. If you've been looking for an excuse to get out and experience it for yourself, tomorrow is as good a time as any. While you're there, check out their drool-worthy food selection including some newly-aquired gorgonzola fig terrines with port and walnuts or Houstonist's favorite panini with tender slices of proscuitto, mozzarella, basil, roasted peppers and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette.
RSVPs are required for the wine and beer tasting and we're told there are still spots available. Call Liebman's at 281.493.9463 for more information or to make your reservation while you still can. You can also email them for more details at liebmans at liebmans dot com.
