What do you get when you cross the soul of a big band with the attitude of the P-Funk All-Stars? Big Sam's Funky Nation, of course!

Big Sam himself is a killer trombonist who's backed by a motley crew of jazz and brass musicians who put on a raucous, lively show the likes of which you don't often see outside of the Big Easy. Both Big Sam and his Funky Nation wail through the night with brilliant improv sessions, wicked call-and-response and a little something called "second-lining," which is better seen than described. The bottom line is that you'll have the time of your life watching Big Sam's Funky Nation in person, and leave hungry for some boudin and the next show.
Big Sam's Funky Nation will be playing at The Continental Club tomorrow night at 10:00 p.m., with the always popular Molly and the Ringwalds opening up for them at 7:30 p.m. If you get there in time for Molly (and perhaps some karaoke?), there's no cover. That's right, it's free! Which means that you can stay till Big Sam takes the stage and not pay a dime for cover (which is expected to be $10 for the show).
And remember how we just told you that Big Sam is better seen than described? Well, you can judge that for yourself after the jump...
