Houston's boil water notice lifted

As reader monkypanda brought to our attention, there's no longer any need to boil city of Houston tap water before drinking it: "Public works spokesman Alvin Wright says that the city of Houston's drinking water system has now been cleared of the boil water notice," the Chronicle's Ike Answers blog reports.
