Looking for something fun to do tonight that doesn't involve sitting in your sweltering house? Something that involves drinking, poetry, funny people and music?

Grab whatever you've salvaged from your freezer to BBQ, snag your guitar and poetry and show up tonight at Caroline Collective (4820 Caroline St.) from 5 - 9pm tonight, Thursday September 18th for Open Spirits.

Caroline Collective will host ‘Open Spirits’ our first open mike happy hour and BBQ. Party starts a 5pm w/ BYOL Happy Hour. Open Mic from 7pm - 9pm. Bring your favorite bev of choice, some meats for the grilling and be prepared to share some poetry, spoken word, or instrumentation - kid friendly please. Caroline will provide, a PA, tandem grilling, the coolers, Ice and camaraderie.

Word on the street is that there has been some Bud Lite donated for the evening, so all you non-beer snobs will have something frosty and alcoholic to drink. Photo thanks to Flickr user Ed Schipul, the Lomo lover
