Wondering what to do with that lingering Ike debris in your driveway? Why not channel your electricity-less energy and create 'Made From Ike' art for a chance to win some cash-money? We know you've got mad chainsaw skillz these days...
Fresh Arts is calling Houston cultural first responders to submit their Hurricane Ike remnant art for their MADE FROM IKE art contest that ends on October 20th.
The rules? Easy-peasy, find some Hurricane Ike debris (trees, awnings, bricks, whatever ya' got) and make something cool out of it. Take a photo of your creation and email it to info @ fresharts dot org by October 20th to be in the running for $2000 prize dinero.
If you really want to show off your Ike artistic prowess, you can drag your creation to Caroline Collective's (4820 Caroline St.) courtyard on Friday, October 24th for a Hurricane Ike benefit party. They will be holding a silent auction of MADE FROM IKE entries (and other donated local art pieces) to benefit Americans for the Arts Emergency Relief fund that supports community arts organizations re-build after disaster strikes.
