Houstonist Was There: Houston v. Alabama-Birmingham

Houstonist was in attendance on Thursday night as the Houston Cougars overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to stun the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers with 42 unanswered second half points to win 45-20 in front of a national tv audience.

The Cougars, (3-3, 2-0 C-USA) were absolutely dominated in the first half by the Blazers (1-6, 0-3 C-USA) who jumped to a 13-0 lead as quarterback Case Keenum and the offense struggled to find rhythm.

Whatever was said at halftime sure did work for the Cougars as they showed the Blazers why they're one of the most explosive offenses in the nation who can score at will. Keenum, the nation's leading passer, was 24-for-36 with 360 yards and two touchdowns. Keenum led the Cougars on touchdown drives of 89,72 and 99 yards as the offense racked up 375 total yards in the second half.

Tyron Carrier had six catches for 102 yards and a touchdown to lead UH's aerial attack and freshman running back Bryce Beall had 12 rushes for 107 yards and touchdown.
